Disaster Response

In the wake of the devastating floods that swept through Central and Eastern Europe, a beacon of hope emerged in the form of Sava's Safe Haven's shelter has been at the forefront of rescue and relief efforts, providing much-needed assistance to animals and communities affected by the disaster.

The catastrophic floods, caused by Storm Boris, brought unprecedented rainfall and destruction, displacing tens of thousands of people and leaving countless animals in dire need of help. Amidst this chaos, Sava's Safe Haven has been a tireless advocate for the voiceless, ensuring that the animals are not forgotten in this time of crisis.

The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) stepped in with an emergency grant, recognizing the urgent need for support. This aid was instrumental in helping Sava's Safe Haven cover the costs of food, water, and veterinary care for the animals in the most affected villages, such as Costache Negri and Cudalbi.

Sava's Safe Haven have distributed food for pets, provided essential tools to clear mud, and set up shelters to protect animals from the harsh elements.

Moreover, Sava's team extended beyond animals, as we also supplied potable water, food and hygiene products to families in need..

The collaboration between Sava's Safe Haven and IFAW is a testament to the power of solidarity and the impact of collective efforts in times of disaster. It is a reminder that in the face of adversity, humanity can come together to make a difference in the lives of those in need.

As we reflect on the events and the outpouring of support, we extend our heartfelt thanks to IFAW on behalf of Sava's Safe Haven. Their swift action and generosity have not only saved lives but have also inspired a sense of solidarity and hope : THANK YOU!
